La Casa Azul - Frida Kahlo lives in Mexico City

Frida Kahlo - the name alone conjures up instant images of the celebrated artist as well as her singular artwork. Fans worldwide make the pilgrimage to her family home in Mexico City where she lived and died, known affectionately as “the blue house”. After Frida’s death in 1954, the home was converted into a museum, allowing the public access into her most intimate sanctum. Each object, piece of furniture and artwork offers a window into the psyche of one of the world’s most revered artists. Lovingly maintained and restored by the museum staff, “the blue house” allows the visitor to step into the day-to-day life of Frida Kahlo.
